I HEART USA

Stuart Acker Holt has been cycling massive heart shapes around major cities since 2010. Enroute he interviews people to help him get a feel for the character of people living there and how the neighborhoods interconnect.

In 2016 he used this concept to measure the mood of the US presidential election, cycling 60 miles in a heart shape through areas of extreme social and economic variety.

He set out on voting day, completing the circuit the day following the election outcome. The resulting film captures a sliver of the mood that gripped a nation, and the entire world.
